Route Description - Raja Ampat Full Park

Embark on a breathtaking 12-day voyage aboard Calico Jack, exploring the stunning dive sites of Raja Ampat. From the vibrant reefs of Misool to the pristine waters of Penemu and the rich marine life of Dampier Strait, this journey promises unparalleled underwater experiences. Enjoy a mix of exhilarating dives, serene landscapes, and local culture as you discover some of the most spectacular dive locations in the world.

Day 1: Embarkation in Sorong
We will pick you up at your hotel or Sorong airport and take you to the harbour, where our crew will welcome you onboard Calico Jack. Following refreshments and a short tour of the ship, you will be briefed on safety, diving operations, and life onboard. We will set sail at approximately 11 am (or when the last guest has boarded) and cruise through Sele Strait to reach the East of Misool, a navigation of roughly 12 hours. This will allow time for you to get acquainted with the ship, set up your dive gear & cameras and meet and socialise with the other guests and friendly crew.

Days 2-6: Southern Raja Ampat/Misool)
Misool is located South of Raja Ampat and is famous for its steep rocks with vertical walls, a profusion of soft, colourful corals, sea fans draped brilliantly over the reefs and plenty of fish. Areas group the islands around East Misool.

1) Balbulol (No Contest, Dangerous Kayak, Love Potion, Number 9, Pet Rock) Schools of platax, snapper and bump head parrotfish can be found at these dive sites, including barracudas and jacks surrounding the pinnacles. You will spend the night in the hidden lagoon, a very special anchorage inside a narrow bay enclosed by towering rocks.

2) Daram (Candy Store, Warna Berwana, Andiamo) Andiamo is a large, stunning reef with a submerged pinnacle covered in sea fans and surrounded by schools of fusiliers and batfish. Black tip reef sharks and napoleon wrasse can also be found here. Candy Store, named so as the first divers to explore this reef felt like kids in a candy store, is covered in giant sponges, beautiful soft corals and sea fans. In the valleys, schools of fusiliers, butterfly fish and barracuda gather.

3) Warokaraket/Boo Island (Shadow Reef, Jamur Boo, Yellit Kecil or Besar) + Night Dive Shadow Reef, also known as Magic Mountain, is one of the top-rated diving sites in Raja Ampat. An offshore pinnacle with a long and narrow ridge, shoals of bannerfish, pyramid butterfly and yellow snappers can be seen cavorting on top of the ridge, persistently stalked by giant trevallies, orange-spotted jacks & longnose emperors.

Boo Rock or Jamur Boo is known for the "windows" or rounded openings on the end of the largest rock that completely pierce the reef from the surface down to five meters deep. Although the two rocks appear separate from the surface. Reef sharks, parrotfish, surgeonfish, schooling batfish, fusiliers, snappers and moray eels are all found here, as well as a wide variety of nudibranchs, unicornfish, octopus and green turtles. Yellit Kecil's (whilst sharing all of the attributes of its neighbouring sites) main characteristic is the large number of nembrotha nudibranchs that can be observed on the ridge.

4) Wayilbatan (Dunia Kecil, Barracuda Rock, Four Kings, Wedding Cake) + Night Dive
The Wayilbatan area offers impressive dive sites with a remarkable range of marine diversity and topography. At Wedding Cake, schools of batfish, trevallies, barracuda and pygmy seahorses congregate. In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to take in scenic landscapes with some kayaking and paddle boarding amongst the most spectacular hidden lagoons in the region. Four Kings dive site comprises four underwater pinnacles covered in soft coral and colourful tunicates. You can swim from one rock to the next, enjoying the soft corals, psychedelic colours and abundant fish life. Be sure to look out for turtles here.

5) Yilliet (No Contest, Dangerous Kayak, Love Potion, Number 9, Pet Rock)
In the early morning, we will take short navigation to dive the Fiabacet area where colourful soft corals and beautiful sea fans smother the reefs. A deep underwater ridge connects the islands of Boo in the East, to Kalig in the West. These include Batu Kecil (also known as Tank Rock), Nudi Rock and Whale Rock.

6) Wagmab (3 Rocks, Goa Farondi)
Located 20 km from Misool Island, this islet of Farondi is a favoured dive site in Raja Ampat due to its unique and distinctive landscape, which consists of tunnels, caverns, boulders and colourful walls.

Goa Besar, situated south of Farondi, consists of superficial shelved gardens of yellow-coloured soft corals, wall tops blanketed with plate corals, leather corals, yellow and purple sea squirts, and rounded hollows filled with coral shrubberies, sponges and red ornamental ghost pipefish. Tunnels in the caves collide with green soft coral trees and sponges and house night-time snapper and sweetlips. Late in the afternoon, after your third dive, we will depart North and set sail for an overnight cruise to Penemu Island, navigation of approximately 12 hours.

Day 7: Penemu
Early in the morning, we will arrive at Penemu's My Reef dive site, where you will enjoy one of the largest populations of fish in the area. In the afternoon, after your third dive, you will take a short boat tour to Penemu and walk up to the famous viewpoint above Penemu's star-shaped lagoons. Here, you will have time to kayak and paddleboard amongst the incredible karst limestone landscape before sunset and dinner onboard.

Day 8: Wofo
We start the day with early navigation to the Wofo Island area, the most northern point of our cruise. Here, in the morning, you will dive at Wofo's Black Forest. The second dive is at Wofo Tembok(a wall dive) and finally Teman Wofo. The evening will be passed on the beach, experiencing one of Calico Jack's famous beach BBQ parties, where the crew will entertain and socialise with you as you relax on our giant bean bags under a pagoda, explore the beach and meet the local hermit crabs.

Day 9: Gam
An early morning's navigation brings us to the stunning Mangrove Anchorage in the passage of Gam and Yangeffo. Here you will find some of the most stunning dive sites in West Waigeo: Citrus Ridge, Mayhem and Way Pretty Shallow. In the right conditions, you can expect some of the highest voltage diving in Raja Ampat, with currents bringing massive schools of barracudas, three species of fusiliers, trevallies, batfish, bump head parrotfish, wobbegongs, as well as black and white tip reef sharks.

Day 10: Arborek
After awakening within the mangroves, we will make the short journey to dive at Lalosi. From here, we dive at one of the most reliable Manta ray congregation spots in all of Raja Ampat, the famous cleaning station, Manta Sandy. In the afternoon, we'll make our way to Arborek in Dampier Strait, where you will visit the local village and see the traditional way of life for these island people before enjoying a night dive at the Arborek Pier.

Day 11: Dampier Straight
The final dive will be in the morning at Cape Kri, where you will discover some of the largest concentrations of big fish in Raja Ampat. In the afternoon, we have time to relax on one of Kri's stunning secluded beaches before sailing back to Sorong, where you will arrive later in the evening.

Day 12: Disembarkation in Sorong
After breakfast and the last exchange of photos and memories, the crew and Calico Jack will say our fondest farewells and transport you either to your hotel or airport

Route Description - Cenderawasih Bay - Manokwari - Nabire

Embark on an unforgettable diving adventure through the breathtaking Cenderawasih Bay, starting with embarkation in Manokwari. Over 12 days, explore a diverse range of dive sites, including dramatic WWII wrecks, vibrant coral reefs, and pristine sandy beaches. Marvel at the majestic whale sharks of Kwatisore Bay, discover historical wrecks, and enjoy unique underwater landscapes. Conclude your journey with a beach BBQ and final dives before disembarking in Nabire, having experienced the best of West Papua’s marine treasures.

Day 1: Embarkation in Manokwari
Meet & greet at the airport. Group transfer to the port. Onboarding, meeting the crew & briefing. We will pick you up at your hotel or Manokwari airport and take you to the harbour, where our crew will welcome you onboard Calico Jack. Following refreshments and a short tour of the ship, you will be briefed on safety, diving operations, and life onboard. After Lunch, we will make an afternoon check dive in the Manokwari area.

Days 2: Manokwari WW2 wreck dives
During World War 2, Manokwari was a Japanese stronghold, and several outstanding wrecks lie within recreational diving depths. Bombed by the Americans in May 1944, these old warships are now the main attraction for divers in this part of Cenderawasih bay. "Shinwa Maru" (the Good Ghost) is an imposing ship, resting port side up in 35m of water. It sank near the port of Manokwari after being hit by two bombs, leaving it with two holes in the bow. In one of the cargos are still cables and machinery once used to move weapons. The sides are nicely decorated in such corals and hard corals. "Cross Wreck" is a 35m former patrol boat lying o Mansinam Island, the patrol boat took a direct hit across its bow, and the wreck sits in about 20 meters of water. Coral growth is impressive and colourful and is known for its critters, including leaf fish, juvenile batfish, octopus, and manta shrimp. "Pillbox wreck" is a cargo ship carrying ammunition roughly 60-65 meters long. It is lying on its starboard side in around 16 meters of water, just o the Coast of Mansinam Island. It is in excellent condition and well preserved.

Day 3: Pulau Numfoor & Manim Island
Pulau Numfoor is a wall and steep slope with good coral growth surrounded by bright, blue water and big fish. Baby Grey reef sharks, white tips, barracudas, tunas, giant groupers, jacks, and snappers can easily be spotted. The fish life is particularly good with some current running. On Manim Island are more than seven landing crafts from the war. They all sit on a white sand slope, each decorated with colourful corals, at different depths between 40+ meters to a shallow 5 meters.

Day 4: Pulau Wairundi
Wairundi island offers unspoiled reefs for a great diving experience; you will be amazed by the abundance of rainbow-coloured reef fish and hard and soft corals that dominate the landscape. White sandy slopes feature soft sponge coral and plenty of creatures for the keen underwater photographers of the group. You can also expect quite a lot of shark action, with Whitetip, Black-tip, and Grey reef sharks patrolling these waters.

Day 5: Pulau Matas & Pulau Rouw
Early morning, we arrive at the beautiful sand island of Pulau Matas. The chain of the island in this area is breathtaking, with some best beaches to be found in West Papua. On the day's first dive, we dive at the south end of Pulau Matas. Slopping wall with lovely coral coverage and good fish life. On the second dive, we'll make small navigation to Pulau Roun where 3 World War 2 American "P38 Lightning" fighter lies in shallow water. It's a little unclear how the planes found their way here, but it seems as if they were ditched sometime in 1944. The afternoon is our scheduled beach afternoon of snorkelling, exploring the inhabitant island, and chilling on one of the most specular beaches in Cenderawasih Bay. Evening we will enjoy one of Calico Jack's famous beach BBQ parties, where the crew will entertain and socialize with you as you relax on our giant bean bags under a pagoda whilst being served up our chef's delicious BBQ dinner.

Day 6: Pulau Mioswar, Pulau Roon
Three dives in the area with large rocks and boulders covered in soft and hard coral. Some of the most prolific green Tubastrea hard corals of Cenderawasih grow here. Schools of Fusiliers, along with bump head parrotfish or the occasional small grey reef shark, can be seen here. Tanjung Ayami is a nice boulder dive with good coral growth and many Fusiliers and Barracudas. Afternoon we will have a chance to go on land and visit the local village in the area. Evening Night dive off the front of the village.

Day 7: Pulau Roon & Pulau Ribbon
These islands have lovely soft corals, sea fans, whips, and elephant ear sponges. Hawksbill, green turtles, barracuda, and surgeonfish can be seen cruising along the oasis of coral. Just of Pulau Rippon is a downed aircraft from World War 2 resting in 12m on a hard-coral slope. The wings and some of the fuselage is still intact. Beautiful sea fans and soft corals can be found as the slope steepens. Possible night dive in the area.

Day 8: Pulau Sodompari & Wandammen Peninsula
A half-kilometre-long reef runs west of Pulau Sodompari. A lovely mini wall with sea fans and so coral. Good fish life in the area when the current is running. Wandammen Peninsula offers a good variety of pelagic and critter action with ridges of rocks and bommies covered in colourful sea fans and soft corals, schooling barracuda, giant trevally, fusiliers and plenty of critters to be found in the area.

Day 9: Tanjung Mangguar
Tanjung Mangguar is one of the most beautiful and exciting dive areas in Cenderawasih. Massive soft coral and sea whip colonies adorn this reef, which attracts a large number of fishes, including barracudas, rainbow runners, jacks, and even sharks, manta rays, and Mobula rays can be spotted regularly! Huge barrel- and elephant ear sponges, giant clams, gardens, and lots of fish, all-in crystal-clear water.Possible night dive in the area.

Day 10 - 11: Kwatisore Bay Whale Sharks
Depending on Shark encounters 10-11 days of itinerary may vary. Kwastisore Bay is home to the majestic and beautiful Whale shark. This once-in-a-lifetime experience to dive or snorkel with these gentle giants is what makes Cenderawasih Bay so unique. Cenderawasih bay is a year-round playground for whale sharks that is an everyday occurrence. Cenderawasih Whale sharks are thought to bring good luck to the fisherman who lives on the Bagons (floating fishing platforms). The fisherman tosses handfuls of baitfish so the whale sharks so they stay close to the bagans.

Day 12: Disembarkation in Nabire
After breakfast and the last exchange of photos and memories, the crew and Calico Jack will say our fondest farewells and transport you either to your hotel or Nabire airport.

Route Description - Raja Ampat North (Wayag)

Join us for an exhilarating 9-day dive adventure through the stunning Raja Ampat archipelago, beginning with embarkation in Sorong. Explore world-renowned dive sites like Manta Sandy and Blue Magic, where vibrant coral gardens and bustling marine life abound. Experience the thrill of diving with manta rays, marvel at WWII wrecks, and unwind on secluded beaches with beach BBQs. Conclude your journey with a relaxing return to Sorong, carrying unforgettable memories of one of the world's premier diving destinations.

Day 1 | Embarkation in Sorong
We will pick you up either at your hotel or Sorong airport and take you to the harbor where our crew will welcome you onboard Calico Jack. Following refreshments and a short tour of the ship, you will be briefed on safety, diving operations, and life onboard. We will aim to depart by 12 pm and head 5 hours north to Waisai. It will allow time for you to get acquainted with the ship, set up your dive gear & cameras, and to meet and socialize with the other guests and friendly crew, before an afternoon check dive close by Mioskon island. You will spend the night close to Waisai at a safe anchorage. We will visit Mioscon island with the friendly cat colony living on it and witness the swarms of flying foxes departing on the night adventure.

Day 2 | Dampier Straight
After short, early morning navigation, we begin the day with dives at Mioskon & Sardine Reef. Ironically, sardines are the only reef fish not found on the Sardine reef, but you’ll hardly notice as “fish thunder” (the loud booming sound made when large numbers of fish move rapidly through open water) engulfs you, and swarms of fish block out the sky. Both are incredible dive sites full of schooling fish, including fusiliers, surgeonfish, trevallies, rainbow runners, sweetlips, and bannerfish. The reefs are adorned with sea fans, soft corals and orange elephant ear sponges. In the afternoon, you will dive into Cape Kri. One of the most famous sites in the region, it boasts some of the largest concentrations of big fish in Raja Ampat and holds the impressive record of 374 fish species identified during one 90-minute dive. For sunset, we head west to our anchorage outside the village of Yenbuba, where you will experience your first-night dive at Yenbuba Jetty.

Day 3 | Arborek Island
Starting the day close to our anchorage, you will begin the morning with a dive at Cape Yenbuba, a beautiful drift wall dive. While having breakfast, we relocate 1.5 hours to one of the most reliable Manta ray congregation spots in all of Raja Ampat, the famous cleaning station, Manta Sandy. It is easy to spend a whole day observing these majestic creatures as they somersault through the water, feeding on plankton and being cleaned by several species of wrasse and butterflyfish. For lunch, we’ll make our way to Arborek, and after a third dive at Lalosi, a seemingly never-ending pristine submerged reef, you will visit the local village and see the traditional way of life for these island people, before enjoying a night dive at the Arborek Pier. In the shallows, the posts at Arborek Pier are covered in soft corals, with pipefish and cuttlefish dwelling more in-depth below. On the reef, giant clams nestle among soft corals, which also provide shelter for hermit crabs, flatworms, and skeleton shrimp.

Day 4 | Penemu Archipelago
Early in the morning, we will arrive at Penemu’s My Reef dive site, where you will enjoy one of the largest concentrations of fish in the area. This site is very impressive, mainly when the current is strong. Before lunch we’ll squeeze in a second dive at Melissa’s Garden, a beautiful coral garden teeming with schooling fish and sharks. You will take a short boat tour to Penem Islands and walk up to the famous viewpoint above Piaynemo star- shaped lagoons.

Day 5 | Aljui
Heading further north, we will enter a large natural bay around Aljui. Here, you will have the chance to dive at Chanel No.5, White Arrow, and Channel Island, a mix of wall and reef dives, close to the village, and where pearl farming is conducted. The sites are brimming with soft, colorful corals, sea fans, pygmy seahorses, and a wide variety of nudibranchs. Cendana Pier is also teeming with life and one of the best night dives in Raja Ampat.

Day 6 | Wofo
We start the day with early navigation to the Wofo Island area. Here, in the morning, you will dive at Who's the Black Forest, a stunning dive traversing the deep black fan landscape rising to a beautiful and pristine shallow reef. The second dive is at Wofo Tembok (a wall dive) and finally, Teman Wofo. The evening will be spent on a secluded beach experiencing one of Calico Jack’s famous beach BBQ parties, where you relax on our giant bean bags under a pagoda, whilst being served up our chef’s delicious BBQ dinner. Explore the beach, meet the local hermit crabs, and indulge in a glass of wine as music is played and fireworks light the night sky.

Day 7 | Yanggefo
An early morning navigation brings us to the stunning Mangrove Anchorage in the passage of Gam and Yangeffo. Here you will find some of the most stunning dive sites in West Waigeo: Mayhem and Citrus Ridge. In the right conditions you can expect some of the highest voltage diving in Raja Ampat, with currents bringing in massive schools of barracudas, three species of fusiliers, trevallies, batfish, bump head parrotfish, wobbegongs, as well as black and white tip reef sharks. Lalosi (“Fusilier '' in Papuan) is a hard coral seamount located west of Arborek Island, which has extremely good fish life when the current is running. The reef extends for up to half a kilometer, making it one of the better drift dives in Raja Ampat. We will make our final night dive at Batu lima. Magnificent little dive site where walking sharks are often encountered.

Day 8 | Dampier Strait
We save the very best for last. During our final diving day, we discovered two fabulous dive sites: Blue Magic and Sardine Reef. Both of these sites offer some of the largest concentrations of big fish in Raja Ampat. Large schools of trevallies, barracudas, sweetlips, tuna, and snappers congregate on these sites. Route Description - Raja Ampat – Triton Bay

Embark on an unforgettable journey through Raja Ampat and Triton Bay, beginning with your arrival in Sorong, where you'll board the luxurious Calico Jack. Over the next 11 days, you'll explore stunning dive sites in Misool, including the vibrant reefs of Daram and the majestic Shadow Reef, followed by the breathtaking underwater landscapes of Pulau Pisang and Momon. Day 1: Embarkation in Sorong, Raja Ampat
Meet & greet at the airport. Group transfer to the port. Onboarding, meeting the crew & briefing. We will pick you up at Sorong airport and take you to the harbour, where our crew will welcome you onboard Calico Jack. Following refreshments and a short tour of the ship, you will be briefed on safety, diving operations, and life onboard. You will be served a delicious lunch and have time to get acquainted with the ship, set up your dive gear & cameras, and meet and socialize with the other guests and friendly crew. We will do a check dive in the area later in the afternoon. Early morning, we will navigate to Misool.

Day 2: Daram, Misool
Andiamo is a large, stunning reef with a submerged pinnacle covered in sea fans and surrounded by schools of fusiliers and batfish. Blacktip reef sharks and napoleon wrasse can also be found here. Candy Store, named so as the first divers to explore this reef felt like kids in a candy store, is covered in giant sponges, beautiful so corals and sea fans. In the valleys, schools of fusiliers, butterflyfish, and barracuda gather. Night Dive in Yillet.

Day 3: Yilliet, Misool
In the early morning, we will take quick navigation to dive the Fiabacet area, where colourful, so corals and beautiful sea fans smother the reefs. A deep underwater ridge connects the islands of Boo in the East, to Kalig in the West. In certain areas, the ridge moves up shallower to form the most unforgettable dive sites of the park. These include Batu Kecil (also known as Tank Rock), Nudi Rock, and Whale Rock. Here you will find one of the most extensive reef systems in all of Raja Ampat, offering a fantastic range of marine diversity. You can expect to see abundant and healthy fish life, a galore of pygmy seahorses, nudibranchs, colourful anemones, and reef sharks. Night dive in the area.

Day 4: Warokaraket, Misool
Shadow Reef, also known as Magic Mountain, is one of the top-rated diving sites in Raja Ampat. An off-shore pinnacle with a long and narrow ridge, schools of bannerfish, pyramid butterfly, and yellow snappers can be seen cavorting on top of the ridge, persistently stalked by giant trevallies, orange-spotted jacks & longnose emperors. The ridge goes progressively down, with yellowtail barracuda patrolling the upper sector and white tip and grey reef sharks found nestled under the large coral tables. At the end of the peninsular is a cleaning station where oceanic manta rays come to be cleaned from parasites by wrasse and other reef fish. Boo Rock or Jamur Boo is known for the ???windows??? or rounded openings on the end of the largest rock that completely pierces the reef from the surface down to five meters deep. Although the two rocks appear separate from the surface, they are, in fact, connected underwater by a magnificent reef draped in such corals and brimming with fish. Reef sharks, parrotfish, surgeonfish, schooling batfish, fusiliers, snappers, and moray eels are all found here, as well as a wide variety of nudibranchs, unicornfish, octopus and green turtles. Yellit Kecil's (while sharing all of the attributes of its neighbouring sites) main characteristic is a large number of Nembrotha nudibranchs that can be observed on the ridge.

Day 5: Wayilbatan, Misool
The Wayilbatan area offers impressive dive sites with a remarkable range of marine diversity as well as topography. At Wedding Cake, schools of batfish, trevallies, barracuda, and pygmy seahorses congregate. In the afternoon, you can take in the scenic landscapes with some kayaking and paddle boarding amongst the most spectacular hidden lagoons in the region. Four Kings dive site comprises four underwater pinnacles covered in soft coral and colourful tunicates. You can swim from one rock to the next, enjoying the soft corals, psychedelic colours, and abundant fish life. Be sure to look out for turtles here. Overnight navigation to Pulau Pisang.

Day 6: Pulau Pisang
Seventy miles south of Misool is the beautiful Pisang archipelago, where we'll dive off the surrounding islands. The corals are incredibly healthy and full of life in this remote area. You'll see giant elephant ears, and swirling schools of a wide variety of fish, mantas, and turtles. Overnight navigation to Momon.

Day 7: Momon
Five-hour navigation from Triton Bay is the islands of Namatote and Sagin. Rich with diverse fish life and beautiful hard and soft corals, these islands are great for macro and pelagic species. Soft coral walls teaming with schools of jacks and barracuda, turtles, wonderous octopus, and all kinds of critters make it great div-ing for both wide-angle and macro enthusiasts. We will manage three dives in this area. Early morning navigation to Triton Bay.

Day 8 | Namatote
Early morning, we arrive in West Papua's Momon reef, where we will make three dives on this large hard coral seamount, which is blessed with some of the healthiest fish life in the area. Large schools of Bigeye Trevally, schools of batfish, napoleon wrasse, Barracuda, and Giant Trevally reside here. Afternoon we will visit the beautiful Kita Kita waterfalls where a freshwater river runs straight into the sea! Early morning navigation to Nematode.

Day 8: Namatote
Five-hour navigation from Triton Bay to the islands of Namatote and Sagin. Rich with diverse fish life and beautiful hard and soft corals, these islands are great for macro and pelagic species. Soft coral walls teaming with schools of jacks and barracuda, turtles, wonderous octopus, and all kinds of critters make it great div-ing for both wide-angle and macro enthusiasts. Days 9-10-11: Triton Bay
This still relatively unknown destination is full of treasures and fast becoming legendary for its beautiful corals, huge schools of fish, and migrating whale sharks. The area has been protected since 2008, allowing fish stocks to recover from overfishing. Devoid of humans, the healthy, unbleached reefs have practically no garbage floating around. When not diving the fishy sites, there is fantastic macro diving to be had. Giant, fat candy crabs and other species of decorator crabs can be spotted even by the less trained eye. All five species of pygmy seahorse can be found with solid predictability. The following is a little taste of what to expect from some of the dive sites in the area.

Whale shark Bagan's
Four hours from Kaimana, we visit the head of the village for permission to swim with the local whale sharks. This is one of the only places in the world where you can encounter whale sharks all year round. The whale sharks are attracted to the local fishing platforms (bagans) because the fishermen feed them as they believe they bring good luck.

Triton, Larry's Heaven
Larry’s heaven is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful places ever and has been given its name by the late Larry Smith. The colours and sheer diversity are truly mind-blowing experiences. Fields of soft coral, thick forests of black coral, sea fans, and hard corals dominate the reef. Fish, fish, and fish are everywhere, all kinds and all sizes, true underwater heaven. Triton, Aiduma Aiduma is an island outside of the mouth of Triton Bay. Every inch is occupied by some invertebrate and an abundance of soft and hard corals. Large numbers of jacks, mackerel's patrol these waters. Large groups and tasselled wobbegongs also call this dive site home.

Triton, Little Komodo
Little Komodo resembles the famous invertebrate-rich sites that abound in Southern Komodo National Park and is one of the top dive sites in all of West Papua! A series of boulders about 14m high, covered in diminutive orange soft corals, schools of sweetlips in black coral and waves of anthias and damselfish on steroids, nearly break the surface.

Day 11: Balbulol - No Contest, Love Potion
Schools of platax, snapper, and bump head parrotfish can be found at these dive sites, including barracudas and jacks surrounding the pinnacles. You will spend the afternoon in the hidden lagoon, a special anchorage inside a narrow bay enclosed by towering rocks. We will take the dinghies to explore another lagoon located further into the rocks. As night falls, you will see and hear the magnificent Palm Cockatoos roosting along the rainforest edges. Late in the afternoon, we will depart North and set sail for an overnight cruise back to Sorong, a navigation of approximately 12 hours.

Day 7 | Pulau Koon. Ceram
Pulau Koon is a small island on the southeast of Ceram, half way between Raja Ampat and the Banda Islands. Underwater there are walls covered in soft corals, and sandy slopes with hard coral bommies. But the most interesting feature of this island is the amount of schooling fish and pelagic, barracudas, bigeye trevallies, aggregation of red snappers, pompanos, bat fish, and giant groupers. Three great dives in this area before setting sailing towards Banda Islands.

Day 8 | Banda Islands
Karang Hatta is a reef located South East of Pulau Hatta. The dive sites in this region are closest to the 6,000 meter deep Banda trench, making it an intriguing area as the chances of encountering pig pelagic species are quite high. You will have two dives in this area, dependent upon the conditions, and then sail to the main island of Pulau Hatta were you will dive in front of the West shore beach where a 5 meter hole in the reef opens up to the sea. The bridge is covered with soft corals, and large gorgonian fans underneath are home to various pigmy seahorses Overnight navigation to Pulau Koon.

Day 9 | Banda Neira Tour & Banda Islands
Early morning, we will head to Banda Neira where you will have the chance to explore the remaining remnants of the former lucrative spice trade as well as take in the historic and cultural legacies of the islands. You will spend the morning walking through the town and be given the chance to observe the Dutch colonial architecture which remains to this day. Your second dive will be at Pohon Miring. At this site, a large crack in the reef creates a deep swim-through which you can drift through and view the sponge-covered wall on the other side. In the shallows and amongst the stones from collapsed sea walls and jetties, mandarin fish congregate. This particular spot is one of the best in the world to spot mandarin fish. Day 10 | Pulau Ai & Pulau Run Banda Islands
Early morning, we arrive in Pulau Ai. This dive site, on the island of Ai, translates to Umbrella Rock as there are many overhangs along the walls of the island. You will be able to drift along the wall and enjoy the view of thousands of tiny reef fish darting in and out of the cracks and crevices. For the second dive of the day, we’ll move onto Little Manhattan which is next to the island of Run. The third dive for the day will be an exploratory dive off Pulau Run.

Day 11 | Nusa Laut & Molana
Early morning, we arrive at the beautiful Amet Reef. Whilst situated only a few hours from Ambon, it is a great example of successful grass roots conservation efforts.

After lunch, we will navigate to Molana Wall. The shallow wall breaks in places and in the sandy slopes, ribbon eels, small pipe fish and moray eels can be found. Above the reef, turtles are seen feeding in the beautiful coral garden. In the afternoon, we will navigate towards Ambon.

Day 12 | Disembarkation in Ambon, Maluku
After breakfast and the last exchange of photos and memories, the crew and Calico Jack will say our fondest farewell’s and transport you either to your hotel or airport.

Route Description - Ambon-Banda-Sorong

Embark on a spectacular 12-day dive journey aboard the Calico Jack, starting from Ambon and exploring some of Indonesia's most renowned dive sites. Your adventure takes you through vibrant coral reefs and hidden lagoons of the Banda Islands, then across to the rich marine biodiversity of Pulau Koon and Ceram, before reaching the pristine waters of Southern Raja Ampat. Dive into renowned sites like Shadow Reef and Wedding Cake, encountering an array of marine life from pygmy seahorses to hammerhead sharks. Conclude your expedition with a return to Sorong, having experienced the best of Indonesia's underwater treasures.

Day 1 | Embarkation in Ambon. Maluku

We will do a check dive in the area later in the afternoon. Early morning, we will navigate to Nusa Laut.

Day 2 | Nusa Laut & Molana
Early morning, we arrive at the beautiful Amet Reef. Whilst situated only a few hours from Ambon, it is a great example of successful grassroots conservation efforts. The locals have instilled sustainable methods to protect their reef and as a result, the corals are outstanding and a favourite amongst dive enthusiasts. White tips and reef sharks patrol the depths and playful turtles can be spotted. For the incredibly lucky, hammerhead sharks and dugongs have also been spotted at this site. After lunch, we will navigate to Molana Wall. The shallow wall breaks in places and in the sandy slopes, ribbon eels, small pipefish and moray eels can be found. Above the reef, turtles are seen feeding in the beautiful coral garden. In the afternoon, we will navigate to Pulau Suanggi (Banda Islands).

Day 3 – Pulau Ai & Pulau Run Banda Islands
Early morning, we arrive in Pulau Ai. This dive site, on the island of Ai, translates to Umbrella Rock as there are many overhangs along the walls of the island. For the second dive of the day, we’ll move onto Little Manhattan which is next to the island of Run. In 1667, the English traded the island of Run for Manhattan, giving the Dutch full control of the Banda archipelago. White sandy slopes interspaced with large coral heads and a healthy reef make this a very beautiful dive site. This region is full of unexplored dive sites and the Banda Sea is the perfect location for the discovery of new underwater treasures. .

Day 4 – Banda Neira Tour & Banda Islands
Early morning, we will head to Banda Neira where you will have the chance to explore the remaining remnants of the former lucrative spice trade as well as take in the historic and cultural legacies of the islands. You will spend the morning walking through the town and be given the chance to observe the Dutch colonial architecture which remains to this day, as well as Fort Belgica with its incredible views overlooking the bay around the island. Before lunch, you will dive at Batu Kapal, which when translated means ‘boat rock’.

Your second dive will be at Pohon Miring. Late in the afternoon, you will have a sunset dive at Banda’s jetty. In the shallows and amongst the stones from collapsed sea walls and jetties, mandarin fish congregate. This particular spot is one of the best in the world to spot mandarin fish.

Day 5 – Banda Islands
Karang Hatta is a reef located southeast of Pulau Hatta. You will have two dives in this area, dependent upon the conditions, and then sail to the main island of Pulau Hatta where you will dive in front of the West Shore beach where a 5-metre hole in the reef opens up to the sea. At the end of the peninsular is a cleaning station where oceanic manta rays come to be cleaned from parasites by wrasse and other reef fish.

Day 9 - Yilliet - (Whale Rock, Nudi Rock and Tank Rock)
In the early morning, we will take a short navigation to dive into the Fiabacet area where colourful soft corals and beautiful sea fans smother the reefs. A deep underwater ridge connects the islands of Boo in the East, to Kalig in the West. In certain areas, the ridge moves up shallower to form the most unforgettable dive sites of the park. These include Batu Kecil (also known as Tank Rock), Nudi Rock and Whale Rock.

Day 10 - Daram - (Candy Store, Warna Berwana, Andiamo)
Andiamo is a large, stunning reef with a submerged pinnacle covered in sea fans and surrounded by schools of fusiliers and batfish. Black tip reef sharks and Napoleon wrasse can also be found here. Candy Store, named so as the first divers to explore this reef felt like kids in a candy store, is covered in huge sponges, beautiful soft corals and sea fans. In the valleys, schools of fusiliers, butterfly fish and barracuda gather.

Day 11 - Balbulol - (No Contest, Love Potion, Number 9, Pet Rock)
Schools of plateaux, snapper and bumphead parrotfish can be found at these dive sites, including barracudas and jacks surrounding the pinnacles. You will spend the afternoon in the hidden lagoon; a very special anchorage inside a narrow bay enclosed by towering rocks. Late in the afternoon, we will depart North and set sail for an overnight cruise back to Sorong; a navigation of approximately 12 hours.

Day 12 – Disembarkation in Sorong
After breakfast and the last exchange of photos and memories, the crew and Calico Jack will say our fondest farewells and transport you either to your hotel or the airport.
